St Andrews Table Tennis Club Swots Triumph at Annual Quiz Night

The Annual East Fife Sports Council Quiz Night, hosted on November 1st at Duffus Park Bowling Club, showcased an intense battle of wits among local sports enthusiasts, culminating in a thrilling victory for the St Andrews Table Tennis Club Swots. The event, expertly led by EFSC Chair Robert Winter, drew a lively crowd as 10 teams vied for the coveted title, previously held by Disability Sport Fife.

This year, the competition was particularly fierce, with the reigning champions narrowly missing out on a repeat victory. The Swots team—comprising Dave Beveridge, Nick Shepherd, Nicola Shepherd, and Mark Dunkerley—demonstrated their extensive knowledge, ultimately clinching the first prize of £100 and the esteemed trophy. Defending champions Disability Sport Fife, despite a valiant effort, graciously accepted the runner-up prize of £50.

A special note of thanks goes to Dave Jackman, who once again crafted a set of both entertaining and challenging quiz questions, ensuring the night was filled with engagement and suspense. The participants and spectators alike benefited from the warm hospitality provided by Duffus Park Bowling Club, which set the perfect backdrop for an evening of camaraderie and intellectual challenge.

Looking ahead, the excitement for next year’s quiz is already building with the date set for Friday, November 7th, 2025. EFSC eagerly anticipates another opportunity to come together, test their knowledge, and perhaps vie for the chance to dethrone this year’s champions. The event not only highlights the competitive spirit within the local sports clubs but also fosters a sense of community and shared passion for sports and knowledge.
