East Fife Sports Council was delighted to support Waid Academy with funding. Waid Academy plans to improve its promotion of local sports in recognising the achievement of Waid pupils in sport at an elite level outside of school. The project had obtained funding for two huge tamperproof boards that will be placed in the corridor that surrounds the sports hall where they will be fixed to the wall. Entries on the wall of fame will feature Waid Sports Starts, state the sport that the individual has competed in at either reginal or national level and the local club they belong to, which will give excellent exposure to the local club and inspire other youngsters to join those clubs. The boards will also contain information about school and community based clubs that the local pupils can attend. The committee look forward to seeing more of this project, and wish them all the very best with these plans.
