East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Tayport Walking Football Club with funding. This club
was established in 2019 to create an activity for both men and women, over the age of 50, who
enjoyed playing football in their younger years, but thought they were now a bit too “senior” to play.
With 28 players, activities take place at Tayport FC’s ground and ages range from 52-73. There are
players getting over knee and hip surgery, and even two players with dementia. A new indoor
session is being planned at Waterstone Crook, and the club is also looking at holding sessions for
young people interested in walking football at the Larick Centre, Tayport in the future. The grant will
be used to purchase goals, which are much smaller than regular goals, as league and cup
competitions are planned. The EFSC committee are delighted to welcome this new club, and wish
them all the very best in their future exciting plans
