East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support St Andrews Angling Club, which officially
opened again on the 15 March 2021 and has already had some good catches. But it is not
all about fishing, it is about getting out in the fresh air and enjoying nature and meeting friends.
Cameron is a large expanse of water, not as big as many other places but it is a great spot –
and the club offers an associate membership to other groups to use its facilities for education,
photography, bird watching, and to use the wheely boat for wheelchairs users – even if they
don’t fish but just to get out on the water. They also plan to encourage local groups like cubs
and scouts to use the facilities to teach about fishing and water safety. The club now has a
visitor’s lounge and is planning to install a new jetty this year, it will also set up a fish hatchery
to bring on fish and educate groups to show where fish come from. The Emergency Covid-19
funding will help the club to recover from lockdown and drive forward its exciting plans. The
EFSC committee would like to wish the club the very best with these plans.
