East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Pegasus Gymnastics Club with funding. The club used
the funding to successfully return to indoor sport in autumn 2020 and it finished the year with
classes back to near full capacity. The club reports that return would not have been very difficult
without the assistance of EFSC funding and the continued support from all its members. Funding was
used to kit out coaches with all the necessary cleaning equipment and to update the first aid bag and
ensure it was covid compliant. Unlike other sports, gymnastics has a high level of “touch points” so it
was key that cleaning products were safe to use on equipment and wouldn’t damage it with
prolonged use, Bio Tabs and X-mist spray were purchased. New rubber floor spots and directional
floor arrows help with social distancing and marking off areas in the gym and marking the one-way
system while moving around equipment and also coming in and out the gym. With the introduction
of Covid Officers, to ensure they were visible, they were supplied with Covid Officer jumpers; and to
limit the cost of spending on disposable facemasks and to help promote the club reusable branded
facemasks for the coaching team and Covid Officers were ordered too. The EFSC committee are
delighted to support the club with its return to activities and wishes it well going forward with its
plans to develop more community classes.
