East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Duffus Park Bowling Club twice in 2022/23.
Firstly with funding as the Club enjoyed success in the East Fife District Qualifiers for the National Finals 2022. The team of Jeek Rennie, Bert Goldie, Pat Kinhart and Davie Smeaton qualified in the Senior Fours Over 55s Rink Competition and represented the district in the last 32 at the Scottish finals played in Ayr. In their first game at the finals, the team played well but unfortunately lost narrowly to a team from Canmore Bowling Club, Forfar, who actually went on to win the Championship.
Secondly with funding for new indoor carpet bowls for the club’s Winter Deliveries Program. The club enters the St Andrews Carpet Bowls League during the winter months and also takes part in home and away games. Members are also able to use the carpets and there are already new members interested in taking part. The club had already raised £650, to go towards the purchase.
The EFSC committee are proud to hear of the club’s achievements and that the carpet bowls will allow bowling to continue during the winter months.
