East Fife Sports Council is delighted to support Auchtermuchty Bowling Club with funding. The club is starting a bowls coaching program within the existing clubhouse and green. Looking to attract new junior members to further progress the club and the sport of bowls and get children more physical activity, the club is determined to do whatever it can to connect with the local community again as it returns to bowls after lockdown. The village has population of around 1600, with c.180 primary schools age and c.50 nursery aged children. The club currently has 50-60 playing members, but only a few under 12s. It is hoped that by starting a coaching program for this age group (6-12 years) and by purchasing equipment and promotion that the club can increase its junior membership. The EFSC committee wish the club the very best in getting back to its activities and in pursuing its plans.
